About The Artists
TIM ZIMMERMAN - Director of The King's Brass and a Trumpet Solo Artist, Tim received his graduate
degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore,
Maryland.  He has been a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and often assist with the Ft.
Wayne Philharmonic.  For thirteen years, Tim served as Artist-in-Residence and Chairman of the Music
Department at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana.  He and his wife, Gina, and their three teenage
children live in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
ALAN CARR – Having lived for a number of years in New York City, Alan now lives in Baltimore, MD
where he is freelance musician.  He received his Master's degree in performance from The Juilliard
School, and has received a number of awards including the Richard Franko Goldman Prize 2003, Ruth
Blaustein Orchestral Scholarship 2003 and the Alice and Leary Taylor Prize 2002.  He has performed
and recorded with the American Brass Quintet, and can be heard on an upcoming CD featuring Joseph
Alessi, principal trombonist of the New York Philharmonic.
MICHELLE FEVIG – A native of Western Michigan, Michelle studied piano with Audrejean Heydenburg
at Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, Michigan, and has received numerous departmental awards
as well as the Amanda Hale Scholarship 2004 and 2005.  She has done seminar work at Western
Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan and has done extensive piano accompaniment across the
state.  Michelle has participated in a number of music organizations as a pianist, organist and saxophone
player.
JARED FLETCHER – A tuba student of Winston Morris at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville,
TN.  As son of a military chaplain, he has traveled extensively around the world, gaining a broad
perspective for his present business and music studies.  He has toured all over the United States and has
had the privilege of performing with the Brass Band of Battle Creek.  Jared enjoys playing ultimate
frisbee, hiking, running, reading and coffee shops.  He is the newest member of The King’s Brass.  
DAVID GRAVESEN – A graduate of Purchase College, State University of New York with a Master’s
degree in trombone performance, David resides in Port Charlotte, Florida where he is a freelance
musician.  Having received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, David has gone on
to make solo appearances across the United States, as well as playing often in musical theater.     
MATT KUHNS - Matt received his master’s degree at Indiana University and his undergraduate degree
from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland.   He was a founding member of the
Mount Vernon Brass Quintet, has been a part of the Aspen Music Festival, principal trumpet of the 2001
National Festival Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra and the Schleswig-
Holstein Music Festival in Germany.  Matt currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife
Betsy where he regularly substitutes with the Minnesota and St. Paul Chamber Orchestras.
JASON WEBB – A graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Jason has won numerous awards
for his trumpet playing.  He was awarded the 1999 Outstanding Jazz Musician at the Wichita Jazz
Festival, UCO Concerto Competition winner in 2000, and has performed with artists such as Patti Page
and Bobby Shew.  Jason and his wife Andi live in Dallas, TX and are connoisseurs of fine Texas
barbeque.
MICHAEL WHARTON – A native of San Diego, California, Michael is a graduate of the Cleveland
Institute of Music and Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.  He has been a member
of the park brass at Sea World of California, principal trombonist of the San Diego Youth Orchestra, a
member of the Shadow Mountain Community Church Orchestra and a Pro Musica grant recipient.  
Currently, Michael and his wife Catherine live in the Tucson, Arizona where he is a freelance musician
and substitute trombonist with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
BRANDON WOOD – Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, but now living in Cleveland, Tennessee,
Brandon is a student at Lee University.  From the percussion studio of Dr. Andrew Harnsberger, Brandon
was Principal Percussionist of the CIDA Christian College Honors Band in 2004.  He is also a member
of Lee Wind Ensemble under the direction or Dr. David Holsinger; recipient of a Presidential Scholarship;
Outstanding Performance at Jazz Week 2005 and the Lee Honors Recital; and the Director’s Award in the
Lee Symphonic Band
.
